Cal Poly SLO's new Rec Center...

So Cal Poly SLO, has been working on a new recreation center (gym) for the student body since last year...

And today... It finally OPENED!!!

It is fully equipped with basketball and racquetball courts, indoor track, a leisure pool and lap pool... For any goal that a student might have, they can be accomplished at the new gym at Poly.... how cool is that??

I haven't worked out in a long time... so I can't wait to get into a routine to come to the gym more often to work out!!! :D Super happy!!

Long Time No See...

Now I know lately I have been gone; but, for now my New Year's Resolution (Or at least however long I can seem to maintain it), is to blog MORE.

And it doesn't have to be everyday, but at least every time that I feel the necessity of something that needs to be shared, or something thing that needs to be expressed should... right? And I should blog as often as I can, as long as it doesn't interfere with my classes... of course.

Now since the last time that I have blogged, there has bee
n a lot going on, I was still on summer break then, and now that I am in my FIFTH quarter in college (WOW that first year went by SUPER fast)... I have grown so much since high school and even since last year...

So since the last couple of times that I have blogged I have created more paintings that I think I can be proud of, and I think that my Mom can be proud of me too. She is always telling me that I should sell my paintings and that maybe I should create a website that will allow me to sell them; but, I am super attached to them...

However, in recent months, I have sold a few and given some away as christmas and birthday presents to my friends, and they seem to enjoy them very much...

This painting of Koi fish has not yet been sold or given away... but it has some potential.

I have been painting the koi fish for a while now, making them different colors, have different designs, different backgrounds. So far they have been one of my favorites to paint.

Another one of my favorites has been bamboo as well...

Of course I don't just paint Koi fish, but I also enjoy painting other things as well...

Like this painting, I was inspired by love birds. This painting I have sold to one of my friends from school. I was sad to see this one go, but happy to make someone else happy, with my artwork.

Some of my friends at school have asked me if I had taken any art lessons before painting all of the things that I have, and the answer is...no. I haven't, but, I wish I had, because then I would have discovered a lot earlier that I enjoy painting.

So... New Year's Resolution (which apparently starting now, about little over two weeks into the new year): is to 1. Blog more and 2. hopefully blog more about my paintings and maybe more people might be interested in them... :D

Tori

The Happiest Place on Earth...

Today I went to Disneyland with some friends...

I haven't been to Disneyland since the beginning of the summer, and I really needed a Disneyland break before I go back to school.

We were able to ride the new Star Tours ride TWICE...

And even go into a toy box...
OR
Taken into a game...

Either way, by the end of the day...I was so tired.

But at least I had fun with some friends, that I will miss when I'm at school...

Hidden Artist...

Even before I was born my Mother has always been artistic, and ever since I was old enough to walk she has always tried to open up the artist inside me...

And I have always ran away from being the artist that I could be...

But now that I am older I have found something that I hope will allow me to express my growing artistic talents with the world... and although I have never had any lessons, and I know that if I ever want to better myself, that is something that I should invest in... but for now I am happy with the work that I have already accomplished...

And I have been blessed with a mother to teach me new techniques to improve my paintings....
And I think if I keep at it...

I might actually get pretty good at this...

Thanks Mom... I love you.

End of SUMMER

In a few weeks I'll be starting school again... but before we get to that I have to write about how this summer has been.

So, here it goes...
I was working at the park again for my 4th year in a row; luckily this year I didn't have a child fall into the stingray tank at the Aquarium, but I did unknowingly loose a child...
twice. :[ But it all worked out okay.

Basically, it was 10 weeks filled with games, whining, fun, cute silliness, and a solid paycheck... and I will miss that when i'm at school...

But this next year is going to be a very fun and challenging adventure as I will be carrying 19 units my Fall quarter.
I'm just hoping that I won't be placed on Academic Probation, from falling too far behind...
